  1. I was wondering about the history of the name "Tench Bhatta" at this hour, searched the net and found this blog, and really delight to find it. Childhood memories haunting to mind. It's really a historical place; a living heritage!
Perhaps you missed to mention about Standard English School where more than half of generation of Tench at that time schooled there.
We lived for sometimes in the street where Mansab da Khoo was situated, used to play "chupan Chupai" and "kho" in the evenings with street fellows in early 70s and the Well was there and around that there was a vegetable farm. Actually it was a tube-well (Rehat) driven by a bull at that time.
Our parents also observed some super natural creatures in a house near Aadrra qabaristan where we lived for some times.
It was very neat and clean place in 70s and even in 80s. There was no suzuki or rakshaw seen on road. Instead GTS Bus and even Double Decker driven by driver and conductor in neat uniform used to run on that road. I remember some old shops like Nazeer Halwai, Iqbal hotal etc.......
Thank you for putting up such precious information. God Bless you! Keep up ...
